I really wanted to work on a multimedia project during my Saturday shift this past weekend. Really, I did. Fortunately, I work with great people like Colin Mulvany and Dan Pelle who trust me implicitly with such tasks and allowed me to take a stab at the Motorcycle Demolition Derby.

Tuesday, September 4, 2007, The Empyrean Coffee House, Spokane, Wash. -

I shoot a lot of bands. Seriously, sometimes I have a hard time being creative with them, because I shoot them so often.

Today's particular group, My Fatal Mistake, was set up for 5:00 p.m., and I was anxious to get out of the office. I left early, arrived at the coffee house, and lounged in a comfy-chair next to the pass bar. A glass chess set caught my eye on one of the neighboring tables. I had ten minutes, my 60mm macro, and some cool light.

Saturday, September 1, 2007, Pig Out In The Park, Spokane, Wash. -

Spokane is different. I've been here for two years now, and still I just can't get into it... what it is about, who it represents, why it matters. It is 97% white. It's diversity is found within neighborhoods like Hillyard and Perry. A meth problem seems to resonate.

I worked today, and was assigned to shoot an annual festival... Pig Out In The Park. http://www.spokanepigout.com/ I had Yaki Soba noodles from the man in the second photo and a frozen banana dipped in chocolate for dessert... Yum!
